On May 30, Vistra Corp announced its intentions to repower Coleto Creek Power Plant as a gas-fueled plant, which would increase its energy capacity by up to 600 megawatts. In December 2020, Vistra Corp announced its plans to retire the plant, which was built in 1980, by 2027.
